Professor Graham Winch

Professor of Project Management, Alliance Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester

Research Theme: Transitions


Graham has been Professor of Project Management in Alliance Manchester Business School since 2004. His professional background is in construction (I am a Chartered Construction Manager). He previously held academic roles at UMIST and University College London. His principal contribution to AMBS over the years has been in executive education, where he led project leadership programmes for clients such as BP and BAE Systems. Most recently, he was Academic Director for Executive Education in AMBS. Over the last 10 years, his research has focused the role of project owners and operators of infrastructure assets in effective project organizing. He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Project Management (2-year impact factor 9.04) and co-author of Strategic Project Organizing (OUP, 2022).
