Stian Westlake, Chief Executive of the Royal Statistical Society and Governor of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), will be the speaker at this year’s Deane-Stone Lecture on Economic Measurement at NIESR.
The event will focus on “the uses and abuses of economic statistics”. Exploring the myriad of ways that economic statistics find their way into public debate, Stian will look at how statistics are currently used, and include a typology of the ways in which they are misused.
